Many motor repair shops utilize a process called wet winding in their operations. In this process, resin, generally an epoxy, is brushed on during the winding process to insure complete insulation between the layers of windings. The major complaint with this process, is that the material that is most widely used in wet winding has a very short shelf life of only a few months. Most shops even refrigerate the material in an effort to extend the shelf life. However, more often than not, when they go to use the material it has expired and has to be disposed of. This obviously is an additional cost to their operation, not to mention the inconvenience of having to order more material and wait for delivery.
Dolph offers CN-1119 SINGLE COMPONENT HIGH VISCOSITY EPOXY RESIN for wet winding applications. It performs similarly to the competitors product in application and cure with one big exception. It has a 10 month shelf life at room temperature. With refrigeration the shelf life can be extended to 12-14 months. No more disposing of partially used cans due to short shelf life. No more having to reorder and wait for delivery in order to finish a critical job. CN-1119 can also be used in a room temperature fast cure system with the addition of RE-2000 reactor. The pot life using the reactor is about 45 minutes.
